Second Shoot Series

With this first one I had trouble getting the right focus depth so I will need to work on this in my next shoot. The series is not quite in black and white, instead I took down the vibrance and saturation to give a dramatic sureal feel which adds to the narrative. In this shot I'm trying to get the viewer to feel sympathetic towards the make up to emphasise the 'good intention'.

I was mostly happy with this image except it was hard to get the eyeliner pots symetrical with the other makeup. Also in the next shoot, if I use this shot, I will try to get it more front on so it doesn't make the 'good intention' side look so weak.

In this shot I was playing around with the colour filter to create an 'evil' or 'sinister' mood. The angle of this shot is meant to make the veiwer feel insignificant in the face of this side or team. However, it doesn't really fit into the series so I might drop the idea unless I incorporate it into all the shots.

Here I ran into a bit of trouble with shadows and the shot glasses. To over come this I may have to use the ready to go shots from the liquor store because they aren't transparent. I decided to shoot this from the angle which shows both sides but being able to see the front of the make up side to create a sense of intimidation coming from the alcohol.

Again this shot isn't perfect because I bumped the tripod when I was taking all the photos so they didn't line up properly. Also when I shoot it again I think it would be quite effective looking through the makeup as if the the veiwer is hiding behind them in the face of battling against the alcohol, also it will eliminate some of the repeativeness in the series.

For this final shot the idea I was trying to convey is that in the end no one really wins the war when it comes to binge drinking showing the patheticness of the issue, also it goes back to the eyeliner pot in the middle of all the chaos.
